Beetle or something else?

So, aside from my scratched iPhone this morning, before I'm about to walk into the front doors to my job, I just so happened to catch up to one of the trainers for our department outside. She points out a bug on a wall near the garbage can. My immediate reaction is "gross," as I can't stand bugs for anything.

I decided to show my boss the pics I took and he was fascinated. I showed him the bug outside and he was way too happy. He whipped out his iPhone and began taking pics like there was no tomorrow, lol. He LOVES bugs, which I will never understand.

IDK if this is some kind of beetle, and if it is...it has wings. I've tried looking for it in an image gallery online possibly, but couldn't come across anything. It does look similar to a beetle, though.

I've seen those before when out golfing years ago. They love to do flybys really close to your ear, and they are LOUD! :O
