what's up guys, i've been looking to buy a case for an iphone 3gs i will be purchasing later this week, but there are so many out there to choose from!
i'm thinking of buying a crystal antiglare cover, and i would like to have a case that is not too flimsy, but is still simple, and can withstand a drop now and then.
i'd also like a case that where you can lay the iphone on it's face, and the screen doesn't touch the table etc.
thanks ahead of time!

I use an iFrogz Luxe case, available on eBay for around $17.

don't go with the rubber cases like this one which I bought first. inCase
if you're at work and keep putting your phone in and out of your pocket quickly for your boss to not see you, don't get this one. it likes to snag going into your pocket since its a rubberized case and you'll end up dropping it lol. aside from dropping the phone, it tends to let your chrome trim get scratched due to the flexible rubber trim not covering the iphone securely. just my $0.02 from experience

The speck candyshell has a nice ridge that keeps the screen from touching any surfaces when placed face down. Also nicely protective.

My personal favorites are the Seidio Innocase II
http://www.seidioonline.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=2374
And, the Switcheasy CapsuleRebel
http://www.switcheasy.com/products/RebelSerpent/RebelSerpent.php?color=black
I use both, when I need small form factor I use the Seidio and when I need more protection I use the Switcheasy.
The Seidio has the smallest form factor of any case I've tried that also protects the chrome bezel. Although not as thin as the Seidio the CapsulRebel offers more drop protection IMO.

These cases are pricey, but you will not be disappointed. Hope this helps.

I have this case as well and find that it's just to big to carry around in my pocket. Which is my main method of carrying my iPhone.
I use it sometimes if I need extra protection, but find that most of the time it's just not practical for my needs.
Also, I dropped (from about 3 feet) my iPhone 3G in this case and found that it actually created a small dent in a corner of the iPhone. I think this is because the case has all hard corners internally.

Go apple.. Look at their3G cases and find the "inCase" ALL black one. Its about $36.00 but it's perfect IMO. Get the smooth cover, not the all plastic one. I had one but cracked way too easy. The black one fits PERFECT surrounding all corners of the phone. Really smooth too. :ok:ok

No problems for me, but saying that, i haven't actually dropped mines since i first got it (without the element case)
I understand what you mean about it being a little bulky- but don't you feel that protection in your hands. The cases they make are good, different also.
They are expensive, but typically, you pay for what you get.
I'm happy with mine, I've had it a while as well.

Well, I inadvertantly dropped my 3G in it from about 4 - 5 feet of the concrete and not a problem, and my Wife has dropped hers many more times than me.
So far, I've dropped my 3GS in it a couple of times from about 2 feet without a problem.
I'm clumsy

I've never had a customer report to me that the switcheasy didn't protect their phone in a fall. I've been selling the rebels for awhile now.

i like my iskin solo. it's a hard rubber case (perhaps silicon). very thin, has good grip, but doesn't stick to pockets too much. and it looks cool.

ive been using the rebel capsule (black) for a year and its freakin awesome! you can't beat the dual protection with the rubber inside and hard plastic spine on the outside. havent dropped it on anything harder than wooden floor but if i ever do, it feels like it would be up for a challege.
ive recently switched to their Neo line and am loving it too. practically 3 layers. rubber inside, plastic to hold left to right, then another to fit top to bottom. their screen protectors go on perfectly and you cant even tell its on there. it definitely puts other cases to shame. looks good to match.

I personally don't like the incase slider because it scratched my bezel & put a hairline scratch on my v1 phone. Then there's others who say the haven't had any problems with it & love it.
Regarding the "thanks", once you have 25 posts you'll see a "thanks" icon.:ok:ok

I have the incase slider on my 3GS and love it
I bought the Switcheasy Capsule Rebel Serpent last week
First day I got it and went to fit it not using any force to get the silicon skin on and the silicon tore at the bottom were the bit to go around the charge socket and the speakers is so I sent it back and got a replacement
When I recived that I tried for about 3 hours to get the case to fit properly I got the silicon on okay but the Plastic spine seemed to be squashing the silicone up and ended up looking horrible with silicon sticking out the corners onto my screen lots and even when I did kind of get it on the case was still showing the bezel
Mabey other people have managed to fit it perfectly fine and are happy with it but I am just giving my experiance not saying it is a bad case because it will deffinatly protect it and looks good but only if you get it installed right.

Is that the Iskin solo or the solo fx?
I have been looking around the net for a iskin solo in that colour but can only find that colour of the solo fx

only the FX comes in that color. The solos are Red, Blue, Black, and White. The FXs come in Orange, Purple, Green, Teal, and Red.

alrighty guys, i thank you all for your contribution!
I received my white iPhone 3gs 16gb in a COMPTON best buy store, since that's the only best buy that had any in stock around where i live, and i decided to go with a gunmetal Incase Slider. :] I'm planning on buying a zagg screen protector tomorrow at work! (best buy)
Thanks again guys!
