Magnetic flaps

Is it ok to use a leather case with magnetic flaps with my iphone 3gs?

I use one. It seems to only effect toe Iphone compass when within about 8". Everything else works fine.

I have a Seidio holster for my iPhone 3GS which has a magnetic flap, and it works great. I never experienced any problems.
