Gonna be fun watching Apple and Palm fight it out over this sync issue. It's on!
Yay! I am a zealot now (doing the zealot dance)

Not that I'm a big music syncer on my Pre, but I mistakenly updated to 8.2.1. Nice to know it's back if I need it. At least for the time being.
My iPod nano still reigns supreme for me, when it comes to music.

i think eventually this may turn into a legal battle as opposed to a coding battle.
you'd think palm would have gotten the message. Is it THAT difficult to write your own syncing software?

Maybe the guys writing the Palm code, did write the syncing software? No shortage of Apple employees at Palm. I think that's part of the reason you are going to see this back and forth between the two.

If they did, then there's no reason they can't do it again for Palm.
Surely they can see that apple's gonna keep breaking Pre syncing, so they might as well invest the time in writing their own program.

Agreed. It kind of exposes Palm for the slackers they are, unwilling or unable to develop their own syncing software for the Pre.

If it were to go legal, it seems like Apple should've done so right away. A little late now.
I'm beginning to humorously think that Rubenstein knows where Jobs buried the bodies, and Apple can only fight via code.
I actually wonder if there isn't an underlying dispute over the touch interface. Palm devices were able to be used either with finger or stylus. Obviously Apple took it to another level, but I think that there is a hidden relationship between the 2 companies, and that is the only reason that Apple hasn't come out swinging.

I think it also serves some value for Palm to keep "Pre", "iPhone" and "iTunes" in the same sentence. No such thing as bad publicity, uh?
