me: im kind of an organizational freak. most used and relevant apps are on the first and second pages. games get their own page. i also have to delete call history and voicemails after i get them. ive heard some folks cant let their phones get below 50% battery. that doesnt really bother me so much. just curious what everyone else does.

Me? Probably just removing stuff I won't use. I don't even have 2 pages of apps filled up, and I'm debating on deleting the ones that I don't use often.

As well as not putting on too much stuff, I have 16GB of memory, but I won't get 1GB filled up probably.

+1!!

I absolutely love having my phone be 100% clean. I take it out of it's case and wipe it down with a microfiber, then with an alcohol wipe(similar to baby wipes), and then, as strange as it may sound, I wrap it in rabbit fur and rub it down. Never seen a cleaner phone! After all of that, I have a little thingy-ma-bob (the round thing pictured below) that I use to wipe my screen clean every time I touch it.

My biggest OCD with my iPhone is that I leave one row empty between the icons and the dock icons. I never have all four icon rows filled, like so:

If I have all the rows filled, it's too overwhelming for me and I get all bothered...

Ditto on the row between the icons and the dock. I also:

Take it out of its incase slider about 3 times a day to clean it.
Restore as a new device about once a quarter
Delete apps I dont use even though I have lots of free space

I used to do that, but now I have every page entirely filled up. I might do it again, but that would create a lot of pages with all of my apps.

I am only OCD about a few things. I can't have any notifications (1, 2, 3) etc on texts, calls, emails, voicemails and all. I clear them immediately. Also I like to have the bottom row cleared but only on the first screen. Too many apps to do it on all screens.

I am a little OCD about the battery, but I don't go crazy about it. I check the App store all the time and have some apps that I always update (Lose It) for diet and excersise.

Count me as one who starts to freak when the battery gets below 50%. Actually, the "must find power!" trembling begins at 60%.

I'd like to organize my icon screens better than they are now--if you can call what I have now, in any way, "organized." But I just never seem to get around to it. I think it's because of the way you have to do it on the iPhone. I'd be in heaven if there was a PC app that let you see all icon pages at once, and let you move things around to your heart's content. Anyone happen to know of a such an app?

I'm also one who hates to throw things away. And on the iPhone that translates to leaving apps around, "just in case." I mean, c'mon, I know I don't need that darned dog whistle app, but I can't delete it cuz I think someday I might come across the one dog who can actually hear it. (My luck that dog will be Cujo, and to him it'll mean "attack.")

My OCD is never let it touch any surface bare. Right now I have an INNOCASE II, but I like to let it breathe on a cloth or even soft tissue.

The other would be keeping similar groups together. Some like to put certain apps on the first or second page because they use it more, but for me, I rather have categories.

All my news/rss and utility apps together. Social network / Messaging together. Media & Music (iPod, camera apps like CameraBag, Photobucket and more..) together. Games all on one (I don't even play them, maybe PaperToss once in a blue). Medical and Health together. All the I don't/rarely use apps together at the end, like: App Store, iTunes Store, Weather, Stocks, Compass & Notes (Evernote replaced it on the home screen) all together.

I have to have the 3rd party apps in alphabetical order. I do the same thing with my DVD/Blu-Ray collection. Which reminds me, I'm so organizationally OCD that one morning when I got home from work, my eyes were immediately drawn to the DVD rack. There was a small gap in the "G's" . It took me about a minute to figure out that it was "The Gods Must Be Crazy" that was missing. I figured my sister came over and helped herself (which is fine with me), and sure enough a couple days later, I noticed it on her table over at her house.

Well, I didn't think I had a problem but this thread got me to thinking (Thanks a lot OP:015:stickouttounge).
When I check mail, I delete it and then I have to empty the trash at that time. Why not just do that at the end of the day? When I am finished with Safari, I have to bring up a new page and clear the history ect. Any app I use has to be brought back to the home page before I close it. Such as Sports Tap. If I am checking scores, it goes back to the main page before closing. Unfortunately there are probably more, but that's all I can think of right now.:007:hammer

I think my OCD pendulum has actually swung to the other extreme. My v1 iPhone was treated way better than I treat the new 3gs - I don't even have a case for this one! Don't know if you'll call this an obsession, but I keep an eye on the SBsettings memory counter on the status bar and like to free up memory before it falls below 100 MB, even though I've never noticed a lag on this speedier version.

It will, trust me. You will get hairline scratches. Slap a screen protector on now while you can, and it will improve resale value, you can sell it as mint condition screen.

+1 LOL! I do the same thing with apps. I have several apps I don't use, but always have the "what if" thought and keep them around. Once my battery level reaches a certain percentage I seem to obsess about it even more and watch it closely.

1) My first page is in the "stock" order minus voicenotes and contacts. I have this screen memorized to the touch.

2) All apps are alphabetized, but I use spotlight to launch apps.

+1. All my apps are alphabetized from page one onward, if you guys haven't already noticed on my iPhone screenshots. I really don't have a need for certain categories, but I know my friend does. She has certain apps on one page and more on another.

The only thing out of order is the Messages app, I always have that in the top left on the first page. I refuse to take apps such as mail, phone, Safari and iPod out of their dock lol.

Any app I use has to be brought back to the home page before I close it.

+1. I kinda do this with the messages app. If I close it and then reopen it, it kinda bugs me that it takes me back to the last message I was reading instead of just the list of convos going.

I wish the messages app would show who the last sender was in a message. For example, if I send or receive a message and then go back to my list of SMS messages, there's no way to tell who the last sender/reponder was. It should show the persons name, then some sort of icon underneath the message to resemble ingoing/outoing message. Like > for outgoing/replied/sent, < for incoming/replied/received.

It kinda drives me nuts as I have to open the message and see what was said and who responded last....grrrr.

I always need a simple yet informative layout so i'm always figuring out ways to incorporate the two, fingerprints kill me on the back piano finish as well as my anti-glare screen. I'd love to leave it in my incase slider but I love how sleek and slender the phone looks. So it's a win lose situation for me no matter what.

He's definitely not joking; I think he's posted about it before.

But I too thought it was a bit odd. I would never trust a zip-lock back alone. Much better to throw in a few bags of silica gel to better absorb moisture. Or if that is not available, kitty litter wrapped in a coffee filter will do in a pinch (preferably new kitty litter).

I was being sarcastic, but yes, what I described would absorb moisture. It would likely be too late by then though, as far as the LSI is concerned (Liquid Submersion Indicator).

I'm the same way, but it will depend on what I'm doing. I usually put the iphone in my front left pocket screen faced down on my leg with the dockside up. i'll put it in my back pocket when i'm out in the club on the dance floor. I never put keys or any coins in the same pocket. Sometimes I'll accidentally put a pack of cigs in the same pocket, but only for like, 5 minutes.

My client tonight kept leaving the control room (to go sing with the choir in the studio) and leaving his iPhone lit, with apparently always-on status for the autolock. His screen was really bright, too! One time I reached over and turned it off for him, and when he returned, he immediately asked if I did that. What a weird habit to have... definitely got me into OCD mode.
