Kind of sucks though because the Pioneer IB-1001 doesn't charge the damn thing and I've heard the charging adaptor (passport iirc) doesn't work with the Pioneer system, the sad thing is I don't want to get another Stereo for the car as I love the way that Pioneer looks, it matches the dash board lights at night, unlike some of the Alpine stuff that glows bright blue and looks whack.

I'm quite handy with electronics, I just wish there was some way of cracking the interface (analog too) open and doing something to it so it'd charge the iPhone.

I think the only option I've got is a new stereo :dft006:unhappy

Cool. Here's mine in my Nissan. I got a new Sony head unit a few months ago because I wanted to be able to control the music from it as well as have it charge while it's plugged in through the USB port.

Can't rate it highly enough, build quality and ease of use of the mount is epic, I paid just shy of £20ukp for it and am really pleased! The cable from the stereo holds the vent solid as well so it doesn't move about, another benefit - my car's got incredibly hard suspension and british roads are absolutely awful for pot holes!

Looks good in yours dude, love the NOS on the hazard button :D! Is that a Sentra? [/Nissan Geek]

Europa, did you have a factory Bose system in your nissan before replacing the head unit?

The Sentra came with a seven speaker system, but it wasn't Bose. I bought the car new but I immediately replaced the rear stock speakers and the head unit. I blew the stock subwoofer within a year and replaced it with a real one.

Stock Bose systems on the Infiniti G20/Nissan Primera (same car, different badge) are quite poor IMO - it's a passive subwoofer too, and is unpowered. First thing I did was rip all mine out, disconnect the rear speakers, stick a 12" MTX sub in the trunk, couple of amped component Alpine speakers in the front = perfect sound stage and quality!

not only passive sub its free air it sucks. I drive a 350z and that was the first thing i did. 3 way active front stage with a sub ran actively :) I know i went a little overboard for a 2 seater haha.

As soon as I graduate and get a decent job I'm buying a late Z33 350Z. Or live at home with mother und father and buy a 370!

My SR20 is cool but I need me some VQ in my life!

haha yeah the VQ is awesome. I love the 370 inside and the motor but i still cant get past the looks. You should definitely get one they are so much fun.

I am going to get a proclip mount, and it will go to the left of the air vent on top of the stereo. It's USB connect, and it works great with my 3GS and my wife's 3G.

Hi Europa, I also recently recieved the same head unit but I've read in another forum that the unit does not work with 3GS models or 3.0 3G? Have you had any problem using 3G 3.0 OS with the head unit? Thanks, wanted to know before installing...

Nice installs! I just have to find a local stereo shop to take care of my 350Z! Can't stand the stock system, sub has held up though so far. It's a 2004 Touring and will be for sale soon......getting the 370Z :ok:ok

Europa, looks like you're the popular one in this thread. My question is about your iphone mount. Is that the Bracketron? Or is it a ProClip? I have an '01 Maxima, and want to get the Bracketron mount for it, but don't like the solution for actually holding the iphone. But I like yours, it has a bottom and everything, looks like it holds the phone pretty good. What is it you are using?

BTW - I saw this post 5 minutes after posting a question about it here (http://www.everythingicafe.com/forum/iphone-accessories/mountin-iphone-in-car-52860.html#post500081).

paqman, it's a combination of a Bracketron satellite radio dash mount and a vent clip/iPod holder. The GPS holder on the satellite dash mount didn't grip the phone tight enough, so I attached the gripper portion iPod vent clip to the satellite mount.
Best Buy sold me both for the price of one :)
