Anyone know a way or an app to put a button on the main screen to turn Bluetooth on and off withot having to go through the settings.

There's a shortcut in cydia, but I think it's only compatible w 2.x

Not unless you jailbreak. You can use a SBSettings toggle if you do.

Jailbreaking was so easy this time around. Its really worth it just for apps like SBSettings. SBSettings and Winterboard are my sole reasons for Jailbreaking. I love how you access SBSettings also. Swiping from the top to the bottom of the screen gives you this...

SBSettings and Backgrounder are absolute musts for me.

I love how AIM now pushes messages, so it doesn't need to be running in the background. I don't have much need for backgrounding, but SBSettings is a must.

It's called PlainJain. I always fall back to PlainJain. The creator also has dim versions.
