How on EARTH can I go to googles homepage or any of there pages without Safari redirecting me to the mobile version of the website. I cannot access certain settings for Google Reader because of the condensed website format for the iPhone. Is there a way around this?

There has to be a way to view websites in non mobile formats...

google has a link on the bottom under the sign in, it says classic. click that and it will bing up the non moble site, if a site has a momble page, they should have somewere the option to go back to the non moble

What sucks is some sites don't give you that option to view the normal site.

All sites should, even mobile wikipedia. Out of interest, which one are you referring to?

Off the top of my head I can't remember. It's only when I'm trying to go to a particular site at the moment and it reroutes me to a mobile site that I realize this. I never make a note of which sites do this but I will from now on. By the way, every site I've encountered this on I always send an email to the administrators and ask them to give us a choice and I encourage everyone to do the same.

I have the same problem. www.bonefishgrill.com does this and there is no way to get to their normal site. Great place BTW!

Those mobile sites are usually designed for lesser cell phones that can't harness the awesome power of the internet like the iPhone can, and that sucks.

If you are jail broken get user agent faker. You can change the user agent of your web browser.

I hate sites that force the mobile version.

One thing that works (sometimes) is going directly to a link within that particular website - either by typing in the full URL or going through a search engine.

That's what I've been doing for cbssportsline.com - bookmark the non-mobile site to your favorites and that's it.
