I think the next generation of iPhone may actually be able to use FOTA (Firmware over the air) despite the large firmware file.

Might be bad for those jailbreakers who want to upgrade OTA.

And to add to this, maybe we'll see wireless syncing?

What I'm hinting at is a possible further hardware upgrade.

For the next gen, probably not. Maybe eventually.

Ok, maybe not for the next gen, but how about wireless charging capabilities?

Wireless charging is definatly something that is being developed more recently. However, i doubt we will see this in the next gen, probably the one after (built in anyway).

There are going to be plenty of aftermarket ones, but the ones at the moment arent great. Its called wireless charging, but you have to have a magnet on the back of the phone and leave it on a charging pad. So really, its not very wireless.

I would imagine in the long term future there will be charging spots / wifi zones that will charge your phone whilst you are connected to the wifi signal.
