I've got an iPod Nano (4 GB 2nd Gen) that I'm going to be giving to someone and I want to include the correct charging cable. All of my iPod and iPhone cables are mixed up and I have two slightly different cable styles. Both cables work with both devices, but I just want to get them straight anyway.

Can someone look at their iPhone 3G or 3GS and tell me if it has the Apple Icon on the USB port end and if the dock end has two things on the sides that can be pressed in? If not, I'll assume that's the one that goes with the iPod. The other cables that I have have nothing on the sides that can be pressed in on the dock connector and no Apple logo on the USB side (opposite side of the univeral USB logo).

Here's a picture. Which cable goes with the iPod and which one goes with the iPhone?

You can't see in the pic, but the one with the smaller dock end has the two things on the sides of it that can be pressed in to retract the little prongs on the side of the charging port.

My 3gs USB cable dosent have anything that you press before you remove the cable, it also dosent have any apple logo.
Hmm, I thought the cables with the press buttons were just for iPods.

My ipod 2nd gen nano & 3GS usbs look exactly the same no pushins or apple logo. My husbands v1 has the pushins & apple logo.

Edit...looked at my paperwork for my ipod...he's been using my ipod usb cord to charge his iphone.
