so... this chick gave me her iphone, under one condition...

that i back up her contacts, and pictures. the contacts, no problem. the pics on the other hand, make oceans 13 look like cooking top ramen.

so what she did is she created albums on a computer and then she put them on her phone. now the computer is no longer in existense. she has about 1200 pictures in fam, friends, and partying folders. thn she has the camera roll. now when i plug in the phone i can only xtract the camera roll, not the other albums.

any techs out their....please help. im finally able to get out of the horribly slow edge iphone and i got this little obsticle. i could pay for one but nah! im a baller on a budget, so help please!!!

See this post (http://www.everythingicafe.com/forum/iphone-software/pull-photo-albums-via-openssh-50187.html#post477685).

Essentially, you cannot access the pictures in the Photo Library, only the Camera Roll. If you have lost the copies of the pictures on the computer, you are sol.

You can, however, use software to pull them off, but the resolution will suffer. I have not tried any software, so I can't give a review.

I use WinSCP to access the entire phone - all of it. I don't remember if this is a regular or JB app, but in this case JB might be a viable alternative if that provides the ability to access the lady's files.

Under the User directory are all the program directories and each normally has a Library or Document directory with the user files. Each program name is a long string of alphanumerics (/User/Applications/1D30EBC9-53E5-4A57-B4B0-5BCC54688143) but one of the directories under that provides the name - this one is Around Me. This program will let you copy files either direction so once you find the photos, for example, then it's a simple copy function to get them off the phone.

You should also be able to use iFunbox for some of this.
it's not perfect, but should give access to pics and music.

The application phoneview by ecamm has the option of selecting all photos on the iPhone and copying to anywhere.

Hope this helps

Its also just stupid that you can take pics with your iPhone, but then when you want to get them off your phone and onto the computer, you either have to DL special software or e-mail them all to yourself. Major screw-up on Apple's part, I mean, wtf?

That's not true at all. With Mac's, iPhoto automatically opens when you plug in the phone and all you have to do is click the import button. It's an Apple product, so it integrates best with an Apple computer.

On Windows, you just open Explore, scroll down to the Apple Device, and then copy the pics.

You've got to be kidding me. I never noticed the iPhone in the Explorer before! Holy hell do I feel dumb. Well thank you!!! lol... good grief.

Try this if it doesn't automatically show up in Explorer.
