PurpleRa1n JB Questions (3G s)

Hi i'm a newbie here.
I've tried purplera1n several time no luck. I dont have any activated AT&T sim or others coz i live outside US or UK, got my 3gs from ebay.
What happened is;
- restore w itunes, only get 'slide for emergency' no SB or icons at all, then
- run purplera1n on Xp, process smoothly until reboot n itunes appear. Still no SB or icons at all, just 'slide for emergency' and usb cable - itunes image.
Could anyone please help? Im really desperate to unlock my new phone. Many thanks

Dont quote me on this but i don't think you can unlock the phone yet. It is Jailbreakable but not unlockable.

The phone is unlockable through UltraSn0w if you did the purplera1n jailbreak but it isnt stable yet and if you do it you may run into some connection issues with Wifi but some people have Unlocked it just fine so try at your own risk

You have to have a SIM card in to activate the phone the first time, otherwise you are stuck on the Emergency calls screen. Purplera1n doesn't have the option to activate the phone. Need a SIM from somewhere to get it going the first time.
