I need a hand. When I put an audiobook on my iphone 3g, it shows up in the music section, causing the phone to randomly play chapters when I'm listening to my music.
I was told that the audiobooks are in the wrong format, and that I need to convert them somehow.
Can someone help me out? I can't figure out what to google to get the answer.
I'm using Vista 64bit

Yes there is a program. I have, I'll have to look it up when I get home though, although a quick google will yeild the same results. If I remember correctly there is an option under get info to mark it as an audiobook.

Well, I found one way, but it's tedious. Especially when I have ~200 files in an audiobook.
Basically I add the mp3 to itunes.
Right click, convert to aac
then go into the folder in the windows explorer, and the file extension at that point is m4a. I rename it to m4b and then add that file to itunes and delete the old one. So, for 5 or 10 files that wouldn't be a problem, but I have some textbooks that are audiobooks and they're 200 files and that technique gets old REAL quick.

Woah, wait a minute. I found a much easier way. I do the steps of adding the file and then converting to aac, but then i highlight all the aac files, right click 'get info' and under the options tab theres a drop down box that says 'media kind' and lets me select audiobook. When I do that, it adds it into my audiobooks!

I just said that. The software I was referring to did something with the chapters if I remember correctly.
