3.0 problems!

So I downloaded the new 3.0 software. Two things...

1. You used to be able to shut down an app or program by holding down the home button for 10 seconds...not anymore. None of them shut down, you have to turn the phone off for the programs and apps to also be shut down.
Anyone know why?

2. My iphone is running much slower now. What the?

1. They've changed the behaviour of how you force quit apps, now you to have keep the Power button pressed until you get the red slider, then press and hold the Home button.

2. Did you restore from a backup? And did you just do a direct update or a full restore? If you updated, this might be why everything is so slow, always go for a clean restore. The iPhone is a bit like Windows, when a new OS comes out, you always do a clean install to get full speed and have less problems.
