EIC Design *tweaks* Poll

Spent the last few days working on improving the design of EIC (http://www.everythingicafe.com/) (outside the forums). Always in pursuit of clean, simple design.

Thoughts? Good, bad...indifferent? Didn't realize we had a homepage?

The challenge is always delivering the huge amount of content in a palatable form.

I have to plead guilty of the fact that I hardly ever go to the home page, so I didn't vote. I will try to pop in occasionally as it looks like there is good info,reviews, and links to other goodies.

I also seldom go the the home page. I stumbled on it while playing with my wife's new 3gs and it was great. I will make it a point to check it out on a regular basis.

Sorry, I see no difference between old and new. Plus, I go directly to the forum, not the homepage lol.

I voted that I didn't see a difference but when I looked around I did see it looks a little more purple? :)
But what I did like was how smoothly the options come down when you chose a forum tab at the top under the Everythingicafe logo.

I took your suggestion and modified the color a bit. It should be a darker shade of purple.

Regarding comments about "not visiting the homepage", that will be on me to make it a more worthwhile visit. Hope to make some changes in the coming weeks to deliver on that promise.:wink:

I always visit the homepage when I'm not mobile. If I'm mobile then that's one extra click, i usually just go straight to the forum bookmark i've set.

Chris im loving the new look for the forums.

Just a suggestion, its a bit of a stark contrast between the purple, grey and white.
What i mean is its a bit washed out with all the white. Try tweaking the post box outlines...maybe darken the grey line a bit for definition.

Can you make the [edit][+quote][+multi][->Quick] purple instead of grey? Either Similar to how you have [Genius] above the avatars with the purple writing only or similar to [post reply] in all purple.

Other than that i love all the other changes.

IMHO, that's been done to death and then some.

I'm certainly not done with this design.

BTW, removing badges until I can put something up that I actually like. This mornings badges were not so great to put it mildly.

I actually like the new icons, but the bar with "my settings", FAQ, etc. is very hard to read and the white blocks between them ( i'm using FireFox) are too close to the words and icons.

it's more colorful, which is generally interpreted as being more fun.

Edit: after taking it all in again, I retract my statement. Just have to get used to the new colors and icons. IMO, I don't think you've ever made a change that was bad.
