I have recently JB my iphone 3gS it was the easiest JB ever to download it just goto

after you download the file just run it click make it rain

after that it basically does it itself

after it reboots it will create an icon on your Spring Board you simply click it and it will install Cydia

it is soooo easy a caveman can do it haha and i did it drunk lol

The icon/app is called Freeze. Which is exactly what happened to my phone!

UPDATE: All good now. Installed Cydia successfully. I'm giddy with excitement!

How is the battery life on the 3G S after jailbreaking?

I don't think this is an official Dev Team release. Their site doesn't say anything about it. They have an new video posted saying to expect a JB/Unlock roughly the same time as 3.1 is released. I'm waiting for QuickPWN.

This is not an official dev-team release this is the JB by former member geohot who was working with the chronic-devteam.

Great news, but winterboard is not working properly. So, I will wait for a better release. I would suggest you guys keep an eye on this blog, http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com. He may have a fix posted soon.

Also for everyone having problems with winterboard, I did to. It doesn't work with this release. You have to go into safe mode and uninstall it and Cydia will work fine. Even the weather icon.

SBsettings was the 1st successful install for me too. Quickgold was mine first try but it said it wasn't compatible.

Just make sure you don't try to install the Rotation Inhibitor add-on for SBSettings. It put my phone in an infinite crash loop. I'm downloading the 3.0 firmware right now to restore. :(

I've used redsnow to pwn my v1. While it's the simplest JB implementation from the ADT yet, it doesn't compare at all to purplera1n for ease of use. None of that "hold power for x seconds, hold home and power for x seconds, let go of power....". Purplera1n, for want of a better term, is pretty much Plug N Play.

I know that Purplera1n will only work with Windows XP at the moment. I have a Macbook Pro, but I also have Paralells Desktop with Windows XP installed. Before the 3GS, I had a Blackberry Bold, and there were issues running the Blackberry Desktop Software on my Mac using Parallels / Windows XP. I know the only way to find out for sure is to try, but I thought I'd ask here.... you do think I would be able to run Purplera1n given my current set-up, or would I be better off borrowing a friends Windows based PC just to be sure? Thanks.

Ugh, I accidentally clicked restore from backup, and after 2 hours, it was only 15-20% done with the restore.

I just uplugged it and setup as new phone. I'll have to set everything back up later.

I had that problem too trying to SSH. BUT! DiskAid does work. (it sucks it's only a 14 day trial. they used to be free)

FYI, anyone using iPhoneBrowser or Diskaid, you have to download the new versions of the software. The old ones are incompatible with 3.0. iPhoneBrowser is still free.

Carrera, intelliscreen started working for me when I rebooted my phone. So when you j/b and install it. Reboot your phone and it should work.

BigBoss has reported that there are some issues with getting Purplera1n to work on Vista. I've read a few comments of users getting it to work with Windows 7 after trying it a few times.

ive tried running it as admin ive tried just about everything, done it like 30 times lol. My dad has XP on his laptop ill have to d/l 8.2 itunes though. Would i have better luck trying that? Just about everybody else has gotten it on vista but me :(.

It shouldn't really take that long. Mine only took about a min or two. If it doesn't show up when you close freeze. Reboot the phone and it'll be there.

Yeah, it would say "Finished" but the progress bar never completes. After several attempts, I just rebooted and the Cydia icon was on Springboard.

For me, it's theming. I love customization. It's the one thing that the iPhone still needs in my opinion. I'm going to try to go without it, because I don't want to loose any functionality of the 3GS, but the stock look gets boring pretty quickly.

For anyone else just starting, it's a good idea to turn on your Wifi before running Freeze. It's must faster than downloading cydia over the network.

Wish I could get tricker3g or voipover3g to work with 3GS jailbreak so I could use slingplayer over 3g... they both install but slingplayer will not run if they are enabled/installed until i disable (via sbs settings) or remove... sucky... maybe when winterboard gets fixed this other stuff will start working... most important (and awesome working) jb apps are backrounder & sbs settings and they're working great so far. ;)

you can still SSH and change your dock or just about anything else. Just not your blackbackground.

You can download SBsettings and hide the icon thats wut i did

Download Cy Delete, and switch the Non Cydia Deletion to ON, then you'll be able to delete it. Hope this helps.

This is what I did to get rid of the WinterBoard icon. I dont think I can get rid of Freeze with that though.

only way is to restore your phone and restore from you back up to get all your settings and stuff back.
