iphone contacts count

not sure if any1 has noticed..but my iphone 3g only shows a count(eg ## contacts) if i have more than 29..otherwise it doesnt show anything @ bottom of contact list. any1 else with has this?

Use spotlight search tool. That's what it's there for.
