i dropped my iPhone and it is badly cracked(looks like someone throw a rock at a car windshield). What should i do to avoid paying another $200 for repair?

Sure you can say that. Will they believe you is the question. What plausible story could you come up with for the damage that would convince them to foot the bill for you dropping your iPhone?

You could say that too but my comment to you would be then your friend needs to give you the cost of another phone. Why should Apple or AT&T cover the cost of your poor treatment of your phone?

I think you might as well cough up the cost of a new phone.

You can find someone to repair it for you. I think the going rate is around $80 and they usually guarantee their work. You can also try to repair it yourself it you think you're up to it. There's how to videos available. The replacement parts cost $20.

Agree with Europa. You can find someone to repair the screen other than Apple. You won't get a new one from Apple.

Unreal. You made a mistake. Things happen, but don't try to put the blame on someone else to try and get a free replacement. Be a man and either get it fixed or get another one. Everyone want something for nothing these days. Doesn't work that way.
