are these the proper steps to JB and unlock my 3G 2.2.1 firmware?

First, do i need ATT sim to do the following, or put in any sim card from any provider is fine or just leave the sim out completely? I assume ultrasn0w does not unlock v.2.2.1.

1. update iTunes to v.8.2
2. update firmware through iTunes v.8.2 to OS 3.0
3. download redsn0w from link provided by iClarified tutorial
4. download iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw from link provided by iClarified tutorial
5. JB by following instructions on iClarified tutorial
6. Download ultrasn0w through iClarified tutorial
7. unlock by following instruction on iClarified tutorial
