He died earlier today at 50 from cardiac arrest!
Check TMZ (http://www.tmz.com/2009/06/25/michael-jackson-dies-death-dead-cardiac-arrest/), your news (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_michael_jackson) etc for info.
More info, Farrah Fawcett also died of her cancer.
Most info is around the net, mainly from LA Times. (http://www.latimes.com/)

all it says there is that he was hospitalized. Referring to the LA times link you posted. Not dead.
Update:
Just saw a link that said he had passed away. So sad! RIP Michael and May God Bless you and your family in this great loss.

Usually when an adult goes into cardiac arrest and they are not in the hospital, their chances are not good. I think he is most likely deceased. RIP

Even though I never really liked Michael Jackson much, I really am sad that he's gone. R.I.P Michael, Farrah, and Ed. :(
Michael is probably one of the very first non-Arabic singer that I ever listening to the songs of and bought an Album for when I was really young. Eh =/.

I can definitely see that coming. Walking around the city I heard several people talking about it just moments after I read it. Most of them were citing Twitter.
Rest in peace Farrah, Michael, and Ed.

What upsets me more is that people continue to throw out things about Michael and his life, such as him being a supposed pedophile and complete freak. I really don't feel like debating the subject, but when someone dies I think it's only proper to show respect for human life. One friend of mine was actually glad he was dead and that sent me over the top; people are so cruel.
Regardless of what Michael did or didn't do in his private life, my thoughts and prayers go out to his family. May he R.I.P.

what upsets me is the outpouring of sympathy. people, no doubt some of you, have made MJ the butt of many jokes...now that he's dead, everyone comes rushing with the love and support. i'm not unsympathetic...people die everyday.

I agree 100%. People do die every day but this is someone who I grew up watching and performing. When you become close to someone, whether personal friend, family member, or a pure celebrity who actually accomplished something in life (unlike most like Paris Hilton, etc), things are different. I just feel like I lost a part of my childhood and people are cruel about it.

I won't debate any of the other stuff in here it's not the place nor time for that. I will say even though I'm a country music guy from Texas I'm not embarrassed to have been a fan of his. Growing up there was not a bigger star and although I can hardly remember it my mom took me to see him for my first concert in 1984 at Texas Stadium. He is gone way too early.
RIP MJ

RIP MJHe was a major talent: dancer, songwriter, choreographer, humanitarian. Like most child-stars, his fame came with a price. He was only 2 1/2 yrs. older than me, so I remember him from my early childhood. I always hoped that the child-molestation allegations were false, but you never know. Either way, he'll be missed by millions. Not my kind of music, but I always recognized his talents.

MJ had amazing talents and no one will be ever like him. New artists may arise and be similar, but MJ can never be replaced/duplicated.
This is one of my favorite songs. Even though he is gone, people still don't know how to leave him alone.

Didnt i correct you on this once before,
If i could care less that means i could care even less than someone who cares less. It is taking caring less to the 2nd power. Lets say you do not care and i say, well i could care less... this means i could care lesser than you
Now do you understand?, i know you are from the south but this is getting ridiculous

My wife says this to me last night.........
Everyone was a fan of Michael Jackson. There are just two different types of fans, the ones that admit it, and the ones that deny it.
Michael Jackson was a music icon, and that cannot be denied. Like some others in here, I hate to see the two-faced media report this matter knowing they were trashing him a few years ago. Some media were "politely" trashing him last night.
Well, I found out yesterday around 6:30 or so. Michael Jackson was a very talented man who battled with both inner and outter demons. Whether the allegations about molesting children were true or not does not matter.
The world lost a musical legend, and that's all anyone should remember.
Anything else in his life will undoubtedly come to the surface within the next 2 years, and by that time, no one is going to care.

... Whether the allegations about molesting children were true or not does not matter. Well, actually it matters greatly, but right now he has been cleared of that horrific charge. Time may prove otherwise. I wish his family the best in their time of mourning and trust that God will sort out any details we missed.
Well, I was referring to right now. Eventually the truth will come out about it, and we can all deal with that when the time comes.
I look at it this way: He was a musical legend and for that he will be greatly missed.

Personally, my heartstrings tug much harder for Farrah Fawcett, and I think it's terrible that his death will overshadow hers.

I thought that about Farrah several times last night. She fought a difficult battle and tried to create awareness in the hope that it would help others. I don't think her "contribution" to pop culture was in the same stratosphere as MJ, but there are an awful lot of men around my age for whom Farrah was a significant, er, part of their adolescence.
Death really isn't so much about the dead. It's about the people who continue living and what they choose to make of it. My heart is with those who feel left behind, whether they are friends and family or just people who felt a connection.

He was definitely a very talented individual, I also believe that fame messed him up. He was a different MJ than he was when he was young with the Jackson 5. I think fame and all that money changed him into a very strange, eccentric, troubled person. It's sad because from the time he was very young he never got a chance to live a "normal" life. Now he will be a legend just like Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Elvis, Princess Di, etc.
And as for Farrah and Ed McMahon, they are also great icons that will never be forgotten.
Prayers to their family, especially the children. Rip.
