Hey guys,
I've almost always used an incase slider for my iphone (V1, now 3GS). However, I bought an incase slider from the Best Buy outlet store online (via eBay), and only days after I bought it and used it, the rubber rail on the left side started coming loose. Every time I take the case off to clean the phone, it gets worse. Well today, it was so bad I said 'screw it' and peeled the left rubber rail off completely.
I've put my phone back in the case, and it slides in much easier now (obviously). But, it still feels snug, and the right rubber rail (and bottom rails on the bottom piece) are on as they should be.
Should I not put my phone in the case like this? Should I go commando until I can buy another one (and NOT buy from the Best Buy Outlet Store!)? Anyone else experience this problem before?
I would go to Incases site and make a warranty claim. www.goincase.com Hey guys,

The rubber rails are what keep your phone from getting scratched. Do not put the phone in that case, replace it. Incase is a good case, there are very few horror stories compared to the "I love it" stories. I personally would be put off the incase due to the failure, but I'm sure you would be fine with another one. Another option that is similar is the Seidio innocase II. I've used one with my 3G and noww my 3GS for about 6 months and I love it.

Can I do that even though I bought it from BestBuy's online outlet store via eBay?

It's incases product, I don't see why not. That's like asking if a malfunctioning iPhone bought at BestBuy can be returned to Apple for warranty care. Of Course! :laugh2:

Thanks, Hawk. I guess it's worth a try.
But, I just went back to my eBay records, and in the auction it states that the case is in "like new" condition. More specifically, it says: "This item appears to be in like new condition, the item may be slightly used, but appears to be in 'as new' condition."
I am guessing this would make a warranty claim useless?

I would simply state you bought it from best buy and the rail came off.

Just sent it out...can't hurt I guess! But in the interim, I'm worried about my naked phone! I may have to bite the bullet and get a new case.

incase does not need to know all of the details. Just make the warranty claim. Mine came with a tiny little dot on the top "scratched" off (silver instead of black). I decided not to worry about it cause the rest of the case is fine. But if something else happened, I would certainly do the warranty thing.

Why didnt you just take the box and receipt back to best buy? If its a defect ive never had a problem exchanging things at best buy. They probably would have exchanged it on the spot if you had the receipt.
