Well my alpine will play from my 3gs iPhone but I get a message on my iPhone saying it will not charge it :( It use to play AND charge my v1 iPhone... Just a heads up.

That's because Apple got rid of firewire charging capabilities on the 3G/3G S. You will need to get a Scosche Passport charging adapter.
