Thanks for the heads up, but that app doesn't find all the hotspots. For instance in my town all the Krystal restaurants have free WIFI and this app doesn't find those.

It's nice if one has to travel abroad... finding free WiFi could mean saving a lot in EDGE roaming charges.

I think it's $.0195/KB. You need to sign up for international roaming to be abut to use it.

So, this page would cost you about 40 cents to load (according to my browser, it is currently ~21Kb in size) :) Sooo, it pays to find free WiFi to use your iPhone abroad.

Because no one has bothered to enter them into the database. Help your iPhone carrying friends and enter the free hotspots here:

Wait a min, doesn't the iPhone find hotspots automatically? Why would this website do it any better?

The free ones are the ones without the padlock next to them, am I right?

This is an area search not just what is in range of your phone. It would tell you (within the database) what Free/NotFree networks are near you may go to use.

Add1: I too however don't go searching for WiFi. If it's around me I use it, if not it's EDGE.

If you need WiFi and can't find any in range, or if you're planning a trip somewhere and need WiFi, you can use it.

It doesn't find as many WiFi hotspots as the full jiwire site, but you get better results if you type in city and state and leave the zip code out. Nice find. I had just posted a link to Jiwire on EI last night, but this iPhone app wasn't available at that time. Learning a lot here at EI.

yeah, but the iPhone can't lead you to a hot spot. It just finds one if it's nearby and available.

This is great for if you want to find a place to go where there's free wifi.
