Why on earth sirrius would make an app and not be able to access all their stations is beyond me. Forget that crazy app. I use pocket tunes and listen to Howard on it all the time. I'm even using a v1 with just edge network and it streams just fine. Hope that helps, from one stern fan to another

How does PocketTunes get away with that? Seems ridiculous.

HAA HAAAAA. Opie and Anthony suck bro...sorry. I dont like Howard either. Give Jason Ellis a listen on Sirius-28 Faction. For a long time he was 2nd (to Stern) in satellite listeners. IDK about now but I listen to him everyday. Its a pretty profane show but i laugh all the time listening to him.
As for Sirius not including Howard in this app-FAIL! Why wouldnt you want to increase your customer base by putting your #1 subscription getter on this new device? SiriusXM may only pull out 10-20% of the new/upgrading listeners they would have if they put howard on the iPhone app. Poor business move IMO.
Anyways PocketTunes is the way to go. You get Sirius and AOL radio amongst others. You can also get some local stations by searching for their call sign (example KXTE)

IMO the merger ruined Sirius AND XM. Who listens to the Oprah channel anyways?

what pocket tunes does, is allow you to access sirius through its media player from their site. Which is public access as long as you have account you can access from anywhere that has flash, being i phone doesnt have flash thats where pocket tunes steps in and somehow allows access to the site and the player without flash :)
Works great, give it a try, you wont be disappointed

To listen to Howard on pockettunes, do I have to have the premium online account or does the standard subscription work?

Im not that familiar with pockettunes. If you download the app, do you have to have a subscription to Sirius or something to be able to listen or is it free>?

Now Sirius/XM is raising the rate by $2 a month.
First they lie about the merger - almost everything Howard reported and sold us on turned out to be untrue.
Can't get Howard on the iphone.
No MLB on Sirius.
Ala Carte requires a different $100 radio.
Raised the rates - some bs about the record industry wants more money - who doesn't.
Rosie now has a show.
Can it get any worse?
Screw'em, I am going to cancel and get my HS from other sources

Send me a PM and I can hook you up with where/how to get Howard. I listen to the show (and don't mind) 24 hours behind...but if you have a personal computer with you during the day, you could probably get it only 2-4 hours behind.
I was waiting for the merger to happen so I could finally spend the money and buy it. I was hoping for Howard, NFL and MLB all on one radio. Aside from the fact that, even though one companies owns all of these, it is impossible to do that, they are charging more for the online and then the phone...and don't even offer Howard or the NFL on the phone? Absurd.

I tend to agree with RPMSTL. The merger hasn't been a good thing. Prior to the merger the two companies had some fear of losing customers to the other if they got stupid with policies. The first thing I noticed with some of the music channels I listen to, instead of a variety of "A" list hits I got before the merger, it's a watered down version of "okay" songs from the same bands.
Next, these same no commercial music stations now do lots of promo stuff for other channels. Though not what I'd call a true commercial, it's stupid to advertise another channel I already have and chose not to listen to. The whole point of this nonsense is to take 30 seconds here and 30 seconds there for this crap and over the course of a day they get to skimp on playing songs. It's only going to get worse.
Lastly, I'm a big listener of the comedy channels. Not only have the ads gotten much more frequent (and these are real ads, but they also do the BS other channel ads here too), but they now find it necessary to hire DJ's for the comedy channel. For a company in financial trouble, having DJ's on the comedy channel is nuts, but again they can get away with not playing the content you want and replacing it with some lame filler content.
I'm a lifetime subscriber, meaning a paid up front to never be billed again. The iphone app is a slap in the face because not only could I not get Howard on it, but I'd also have to pay $3 a month to be a "premium" subscriber even to use it. If I were actually paying a month fee, I would have canceled by now, the content has not been good since the merger. The only reason I keep it is because it doesn't cost anything to keep it, but I wouldn't recommend it to anybody anymore. It was a great service, but now the content has really suffered (and will only get worse) and they have resorted to nickel and dimming people. There are better options out there.
