View Full Version : AppleCare Lost my iPhone - Possible compensation upgrade?

I sent in my iPhone 2G because the screen stopped working, its has been over a week and it still at "diagnosing product". of course i then call apple, the person calls the "dispatch group" and then she tells me that they got the phone, but have no other records of it. aka: they lost it. Do i smell compensation for them losing my phone? like a upgrade the the 3GS (even though i already have one :laugh2: What should i do?

Sell the new one of course! Did you have 8 gig? If so, they might upgrade you to a 3g instead of a 3gs.

I don't know, because I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they still had refurb V1s. I have never had to negotiate with apple before, if they plan on replacing yours with a "comparable" model I don't see them doing too much to compensate for the inconvenience. I am sure in the apple care agreement there is some kind of loophole for them.

Yeah, I am sure that you don't have to worry about that. I think that if they don't find your phone, you will probably end up with a refurb 3g. That is just a guess though. Make sure to keep this thread updated (please :-) ), I would like to know what happens.

tomorrow will be the 9th day, i'm going to state how "i have been without it for almost 10 days, how it still has not been looked and and how i know its been lost. hopefully i speak with a nice person who will upgrade me to a 3g.

My advice is not go into this guns blazing demanding anything. The more rude you are off the bat, the less likely they are to want to help you.

so when i sent my phone in the first time they lost it. right. ok they found it and sent it back to me claiming it had water damage, of course i look in the headphone jack....i have water damage. so i send it in the second time, they confirm it has water damage DO'H!!!! i just got scammed on craigslist.
