Since the 3GS specs are exactly the same as the 3G (except for a slight weight difference), I was wondering what cases you guys got. I ordered the "Reveal" case from Griffin Technology. But it's backordered so who knows when I'll get it :embarrassed:
Seidio innocase II case & holster combo (http://store.everythingicafe.com/seidio-innocase-ii/4A123A4073.htm).
I had the I on my V1 and it was wonderful - except that it came off too easily. The new design solves this problem.
My wife uses the same combo.

I decided to go with the Incase Slider. It was between white and gunmetal and since my 3GS is white, I went with white on white.. freshhh.
I love the case btw. It was a little difficult taking it off the first time, but now it slides off easier and even though there is some slight bulk added, I feel like the worth it and totally protected. I plan on picking one up for my 1st gen and just use it as an ipod

I am rocking the incipio silicrylic Case. http://www.izillapod.com/images/04-0135_01.jpg
Got the Black/White Combo. Pretty nice case. Two silicone cases with the plastic backing for extra protection. Very sturdy case and I don't worry about dropping it anymore. I was worried about the plastic backing scratching the corners, but it hasn't done anything as of yet.

It is pretty smooth, but not slippery. It has a good grip, but attracts absolutely no lint. I LOVE this case. It seems expensive for a skin case, but it is the best case I have ever tried or looked at.

Good for you! I saw that too, but I just recently moved so my papal (confirmed) address is not the same as my current shipping address. (that seller only ships to paypal confirmed addresses) I need to change that.....

You can also save 15% on the iskin site by filling out a short survey. For me
it came out to about the same as the eBay prices... And if you have any problems, you can deal with the company directly instead of through an eBay seller.
And amazon also sells them for pretty cheap.

I like it. I think it's more scratch protective than anything else. Ive held it for quite a while and it hasn't got slippery/hot or anything.
Unlike the sliders, it does have the top and bottom of the phone pretty open where it covers the corners and the back.

Incase Slider - Matte Black. my 3G reluctantly handed it over to the new 3GS. But my old 3G got a nice new matte pink incase slider as it became my wife's new phone.
I think the incase keeps the phone well protected without increasing the size/form factor by much.
My bottom is tight too, but honestly, I like that as I would be afraid of losing it if it was loose. I only remove it when I use my doc. Charging with the cord connects with no issue.

ended up picking up the incase slider today and its great i really like it alot. The screen protector i got from apple is nice but its made a little long i guess. I got it perfect on the ear speaker cutout and pressed all the way down pretty straight. Now when i put the incase bottom peice on it presses up on the protector causing 2 bubbles to form. Ill live with the bubbles for a while if they get worse i guess ill just ditch the screen protector.

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31Qu7Hx9LML._AA280_.jpgThat appears to be almost a twin of the Seidio "Innocase II Surface" - except that the "Innocase II Surface" includes a thin felt lining to prevent the case from scratching the iPhone. A nice touch. The Seidio also has an available matching holster that secures the cased phone to your hip or whatever - with the screen facing into another thin piece of felt to protect it from scratches.

I used both invisibleshield and bodyguardz. I like the bodyguardz because it does not have the orange peel look. Invisibleshield has a lifetime warranty though.
I have held off putting one on my 3gs because of the different screen type. The 3g ones work, but I am going to wait till they have had more time to test new protectors.

I just posted a review of the vaja case in this forum.
The seidio I found to be the case with the lowest profile - but note this was for the original iphone - I have no experience of their 3G/3GS cases.
I have found that both the incase slider and the seidio and I imagine any of that style of case can indirectly scratch the phone - it is the build up of dirt along the edges that works its way into the case - means when you slide the case off it has the potential to scrape mine did anyway - Not badly but it can leave marks.

Yeah I got to thinking about how the incase slider scratched the back of my v1 & put knicks on the chrome after that I never used it again. I went ahead & canceled my order for the Seidio. After I saw your pics of your Vaja case I'm tempted to order one too :tounge:

It does add more bulk than those hard cases but I dont mind, it is quality and looks different.
I wouldnt mind having one of each and alternating.

The Seidio has felt on the inside of the case, the only way it would scratch is if you allowd some sort of grit to get between it and the phone. Any case, including the vaja will do that. Keep it clean and wipe it out before you put it back on your phone and you will have no issues. I also believe any case that comes in contact with the bezel is going to put small scratches in it over time. As you wipe the screen your pushing dust and lint into the edges of your case, some is going to make it's way underneath the lip of the case and the bezel is going to suffer small scratches.
thetonyclifton
07-09-2009, 05:05 PM
Thats why I said indirectly, the felt is irrelevant its the grit and then the motion of how those cases are removed that makes some sort of marking unavoidable.
The vaja actually has far less chance of doing anything of the sort - only about 2/3rds of the outside of the iphone is gripped in that way and the case is prized off - the case bends to allow it to pop off - no sliding.

I have no axe to grind - I have owned and do own both types of cases my user experience is that because of the method of removing the cases the vaja is far less likely to damage the phone.
I actually like the look of both types of case (which is why I have owned both) It is simply a comment on first hand experience of removing the cases.

Couldent be happier. Read the reviews and seems like the only flaw is added bulk (which is a given in a case that protects well) and the water marks on the screen. Its not realy much of a bother, havent even bothered with the baby powder method.
