is there anyway i can download 3.0 for later use .. apprently my friends internet has gone "missing" and he hasent been able to connect for a week so i was going to see if you could download the file and then update the phone later on ..

Yea, you can download it. Do a quick search on the forums and the direct link for download should be posted. I don't remember it off the top of my head.
