you have to put your contacts onto your computer. pc use outlook, mac i think you can just use the address book on there, not exactly sure on mac.

You might want to stop by an at&t store. They are selling some software to transfer contacts from phone to iPHone. I don't know that it will work with your IDEN device, but it would be worth a call at least.

Saving all your contacts to Outlook or Outlook Express is the easiest way. That way they'll load when you sync your music.

Thanks for the fast responses. What I'm trying to do is avoid having to type the contacts on to the computer. How do I get them to outlook express With out typing them? Once I get them to outlook, I was told it was eazy to get them to the Iphone. Thanks.

You're either going to have to type them onto your computer or buy some software program that will backup the numbers to your computer or to a flash drive. Try the at&t store.

Outlook worked fine for me. I think Outlook Express will work fine two as long as you're using XP SP2. OF course that's the minimum requirement for a PC anyway.

there isnt any way you can just just upload them from the sims card on to the phone with out having to upload them on to the computer and then to your iphone?

You should be able to import contacts from the SIM card in Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars. This feature wasn't available at the time of the initial posting of the thread, though

Scroll down near the bottom, it's a button in the Contacts group, just above the Calendars group, labelled "Import SIM Contacts"

That will ONLY work with an AT&T sim card however. Motorola i870 looks like a Nextel model number, so that won't work. You can either buy phone data transfer software, or take it into any Best Buy Mobile and ask them to transfer the contacts to your iPhone sim card. They can do that, just not directly to the iPhone as of yet.

Another option to check is if your original phone has PC a management suite. I know that Razors and many Nokias have one that is free to download from their site ( Motorola will probably charge), but you use that to make a backup on the PC and then export to a txt or excel file and import to a supported address book.
