The iPhone will do it for you - SETTINGS/MAIL/account/Advanced/delete from sever

That just deletes the mail from the server when it comes to your iphone. That doesn't delete all the mail that is currently on your iphone.

There's not a bulk mail deletion system yet on the iphone. Hopefully, this will be a feature to come in future updates.

What about this setting......
SETTINGS/MAIL/account/Advanced/Remove... then pick a choice
I just set it to "After one day," to see how it works.

That's still for leaving mail on the server so you can respond to it once you get back to your office. Most people don't want to be forced to respond to all emails on a mobile device. They would rather just read the email and leave it on the server so they can check it again when they get to their home or office computer. Leaving it on their for one day is so you can check it that afternoon or night. It doesn't delete the email from your iphone.
