The Krystal restaurants around this area all have free WIFI; they just force you to accept their rules and view their homepage before you start surfing. Not bad when you consider it's free.

With At&t having Wifi Hot Spots at all McDonals in my area, it would be nice to over it free to iPhone users.

That's pretty stupid how you can't pay at the counter to use the hotspot.

I'm used to searching for networks on my PSP and often in town I can find a unsecured one amongst the 50 secured ones, at school I have access to the university-wide network, and at home I have my own as well as my neighbor's which I only use in emergencies when my data quota for the month is up. So I have no problems surfing the net with my PSP.

Even most of the iPhone web apps work on it!

Wrong! All Starbucks are not offering free WiFi. My store here in Thibodaux LA does not offer it at all. And the store in Houma LA is still charging.

Where? Not here in Oklahoma City and surrounding areas: Starbucks uses T-mobile HotSpots (Vegas, San Diego also) and they charge and McDonalds uses someone else (don't know right off hand). Would be nice though :)

Many downtown cities are equipped with wifi. The signal might not always be the best, not to mention the lack of bandwidth for the amount of people using the free networks. Then again...it couldnt be much worse then edge...

Went to my local McDonalds today to checkout this WIFI. Sure enough, they have a big sticker on the door that says WIFI. Went in a linked up (free of charge). Good speeds.
Only problem is, if you eat there, good luck using your greased up fingers on the phone. By the end of the meal you'll have the McDonalds "Special Sauce" all over that pretty little screen.

My pocket pc for work (its a symbol inventory scanner thing) can get on at startbucks for free because they use t-mobile and it recognizes a t-mobile sim card.

Cost $9 a month to use the iPhone at Starbucks.

My iPhone can get on at McDonald's for free cause they use at&t and the iPhone has an at&t sim card.

Thats interesting considering most hospitals are shielded against any radio waves that could potentially cause the equipment to malfunction. Must be state of the art.

Hey...come to think of it...WHY WAS YOUR PHONE ON!?!?!?

Haha jk jk jk...lobby?
