Upgrading Question

So I have heard that AT&T is allowing a full discount to the 3G S for people who bought the 3g when it came out. I just logged on to attwireless.com and checked my upgrade status and it still said I wont be able to use the discount until July 22nd. Why is this? Shouldn't I be able to use it on Friday whens it's released?

I think they just made it so you can upgrade earlier.

Ok cool. So I'm planning on buying it at the store. I'll pay $399 then I'll be refunded back $200?

Call AT&T today, they should be able to fix it, or at least note on your account so you only have to pay 199, if your getting the 16GB.

I called AT&T and they told me that I would have to go into the store for me to use my early discount. Direct Fulfillment here i come!

Having purchased an iPhone 3G is not the only criteria to receive an upgrade discount on the iPhone 3G S - check out this discussion thread (http://www.everythingicafe.com/forum/at-and-t/at-and-t-pricing-update-48871.html) that shows the details of what AT&T requires.
