How much can I get for my iPhone on eBay?

I wasn't going to buy the new iPhone 3GS, but I was just thinking that if I could get a fair amount for it, I may as well buy the new one. Is anyone else selling theirs and using the money to buy the iPhone 3GS?

So what's the going price for a 16GB white iPhone 3G on ebay? I saw a few auctions that were over $300, but I'm guessing that's only for the jailbroken ones (mine is not jailbroken and I don't want to mess with that stuff).

If you jailbreak and unlock it, you can get a bunch of cash(~$400). Trust me, it's worth it.

I would do that, but when I tried to unlock my v1 iPhone, I ended up breaking it. Luckily the guys at the Apple store fixed it for me, even though they shouldn't have since I voided the warranty. I'll be very happy if I can get like $100-150 for it.

You should get that with no problem. I have been watching ebay once in a while and looks like $250 is about the upper limit unless is is unlocked.

I have seen $300-400 for a jailbroke-unlocked phone. A new one is bringing up to $600 unlocked.

Edit: Should say these prices are for the 8Gig. Haven't look at 16Gig.

I guarantee you will get no less than 200 for that phone. People are pulling in 400 bux for that phone with it being unlocked. Heck I can get 250 for my 8gb V1 with it unlocked.

In real life I worked in Lagos, Nigeria in the 80's for 4 years, I could tell you some real stories, so I am used to stories. Used to have a 747 loaded with Polaroid film flown in, cleared thru customs, all sould in one week in cash $20 Naira notes only, literally suite cases full of cash taken to Central Bank and then exported back to USA thru letter of credit. We were even scamed big time thru diamonds and a company, they spent 6 months going thru getting confidence in them and sure enough they got $100,000 and we got broken glass with coffee stain, man they were good. I could tell alot of these stories.
