So I just upgraded my iPhone firmware to 3.0, and I've noticed it's added a couple smart playlists to my phone by default (Recently Added, Recently Played, Top 25...). The thing is, I don't want them listed on my iPhone but I can't seem to delete them from my phone. Anyone have any suggestions?
|EDIT| As an added wrinkle, it seems that I can watch my videos in portrait view (with the iPhone held "vertically") now, but only if I play them from the smart playlists. When I try to play them from the Video tab, they play in landscape only.

as far as your playlists, you should just be able to uncheck the ones that you don't want in itunes and re-sync.

When you upgraded it may have reset all of your settings. Like a restore. Did you check your itunes settings?

Just check them in itunes, sync, then uncheck them and re-sync.

Just check them in itunes, sync, then uncheck them and re-sync.First thing I did. I had to delete the playlist from my actual itunes to get it to not sync. But then when I recreated it to test it out, it automatically resynced without me even checking it.
I guess I should clarify this, but the problem is, without even checking the playlist in itunes, those smart playlists just automatically end up syncing with my iPhone. I've tried checking/un-checking and syncing/unsyncing but none of that works. Those default smart playlists just transfer over.

If they are listed, and you don't want them, don't uncheck them, delete them, in iTunes.

Well I still want them, but only on iTunes. I've even tried renaming them, but they still end up syncing over without me wanting them to.

OK, that's just wierd. Don't know if it makes you feel any better, but I have the "Movies" smartlist and it's in the iPod twice. And if that's not enough, They are the same movies I have listed under videos.

Weird. The same thing happened with some movie trailers I had. I ended up just deleting them though b/c I didn't want them anyway. Anyway thanks for trying to help. I'm gonna try finding a different 3.0 firmware file to restore with and see if maybe that might help things.
