:angry::angry::foot::foot:Why, has apple when they have dissapointed so many people with this upgrade, and att how in the world can a major phone supplier not have it together when displaying new upgrades and equitment. It is like Chev saying that it will have a radio with dvd but it doesn't play and dvd's right now..................wth!!!!!!!!!!
Mainly as a developer why not give us something we could say yea to, like flashplayer, adobe...............what is the deal.............when you hear a room full of developers boo you on stage at the biggest company event of the year............there is a problem...........maybe Jobs really needs to come back! Please comment.

Man, there are like several dozen threads complaining about these various things right now, can't you contribute to those individually? What exactly is the crux of your complaint in this thread anyway? General malaise?

First off I am not disappointed with this upgrade. But at&t being late on mms and tethering does make me mad even though imo they are a great service provider other than that.
Flash is fully up to Adobe, but it is partly because apple is very picky about not having a lite version and don't want the power hog of a full version. They want full with as little battery and resource hog as possible. Until adobe comes out with that version we won't see it.

I am sorry i offended you.......by complaining........... but we are looking at a huge melt down at Apple........the crux of my compaint is why no flashplayer? And general malaise. I didn't know this forum, was supposed to only flatter Apple! Everyday a new phone comes out!! With apple it will be another year............ we as apple supporters are let down....dismayed.........sorry this is so jumbled.........just my thoughts..

Hey man, go nuts. I'm just saying this place gets really annoying when everyone just posts complaints all over the place without any sort of organization. It helps to know what you're actually complaining about, too.

Well unlike any other feature we complained about before (ie mms, copy & paste, landscape modes) apple has no control over this one. It all depends on how fast adobe can get a good iphone flash version.

Very true.........I guess 2 major business should have thier act together before they make a major presentation i.e. (apple & att) tethering and texting. Tomorrow, lg or someone else will come out with a phone that will be better than the iphone..............remember what Jobs said on the original iphone ( a phone years ahead of any other mobile phone.) this is not the case anymore.
Apple which is a wonderful company is running kneck and kneck with most of the other cell phone producers. Not what I expected from apple.........now people can easily say my phone can do that.

Sorry I guess I expected more from Apple and ATT.
I would say Apple seemed even more aggravvated then us, at Att not keeping up.
It's no wonder they were in talks with Verizon!!

I totally agree, at&t is wasting resources by not having mms and/or tethering available at launch of 3.0. The point is to attract customers, and to do that, the iPhone cannot have limitations that any standard phone that is made nowadays has out of the box. I still find it strangely odd that you can't make your own text tones. if I get voicemail, email, sms, push notification messages, and phone calls, and want to differentiate them by making a song through itunes (which costs $0.99) why wouldn't they want to collect that revenue. Seems like a poor business choice to me.

Well you can make your own ringtones for the phone, but not for anything else.

So I have this great idea on how to improve your experience with any company that produces high tech equipment: DON'T GET YOUR HOPES UP. No one said flash was coming so why would you expect it? If you didn't expect it then why are you complaining? If you want a phone with flash then buy a phone with flash. The iphone does what it was designed to do and then it is upgraded once a year. If you want to be amazing at a new device, don't expect anything. I did that for this years phone. I honestly thought they might just go ahead and release a 32gig 3G and thats it. But there were many changes - all good changes and now I feel like its time for an upgrade. Good day sir.

And future support reports for iphone, palm, and android:

There were some flash support reports from last year for the iphone, but I gave the most recent I found.

Well, that says a lot... to me at least. Looking over that list, I sure don't see any phones I'd rather use over an iPhone. I don't even see any phones that I think would deliver a Flash experience I would actually want to use. And they're all Flash Lite. I give Apple kudos for holding out for the real deal. As usual, they don't have a whole lot of competition in this category, so why push things?

That's what I was thinking, there isn't a single one I would want. I don't miss flash and I can live without it, so when they come out with an apple approved version we will be very happy with it. Really as a company with the best touch screen phone why would you want to settle for a lite version of anything. Apple wants the best phone web experience to be full and they want full flash to accomplish that. If they decided one day to never bring flash support to the iphone I wouldn't even think twice about it because it's not something I really care that much about.
This is the latest news I could find on where flash stands for iphone:

yeah, there are very few phones that use flash, and they're light. As far as I'm aware, there isn't a single phone on the market right now (US anyway) that is full flash capable. It's not a huge process in terms of PC usage, but with the limited memory capabilities of a cell phone, it's a much more daunting task. I've honestly found I don't have too much use for full flash, unless someone wants to watch hulu on their iphone, which would rape the battery anyhow.
We can be sure we won't get the alternative... Silverlight any time soon.

I am surprised to see a post about flash. The anger about flash not being included has died down so much that people have forgotten (or gotten used to it). Its really not that big of a deal. More and more websites are making apps for the iphone or making their videos watchable on the iPhone and there arent too many major websites that require flash to work.

And if you think about, most flash sites are really annoying anyway.

IDK about you guys, but I wouldn't even want my phone to attempt to load those sites. Most flash content is just a video, navigation bar, or ads and I can do without the latter.

This is getting ridiculous, really! If you research the Iphone, you will realise that it doesn't have flash, it also has some other limitations such as it will NOT cure world hunger, and it can't prepare a meal!
Seriously - if you were to buy any other product, you would research its faults and features and either buy or not buy it!
If flash is a massive issue for you then buy another phone. If you do then you will loose out on the best browser on a phone, the best MP3 player on a phone, and in my opinion the best overall experience of any phone ive ever owned. All products have faults, the difference is, in my opinion, Apple is constantly improving there OS and hopefully one day flash will be available, until then, if its crucial, get another phone!
I dont buy a Ford then complain it wont go 200mph! ;)
