this is how i added custom ringtones.

How to Add ringtones to unlocked iphone

first-install IBrickr just google it you will find it.

second-google iphone ring tone maker and download it.

once you've downloaded the ring tone maker make sure you save it somewhere you can easily access it i used my music folder.
you can also go into settings and pick the desired location you want to save the ringtones to.
now your ready to make ringtones click on browse computer the screen pops up pick the song you want.
once you pick it, it will go back to the main screen with the song loaded and it will show the name and it has two little arrows you can drag to any part of the song. you can make it up to 30 seconds long.

next after you've gotten the song to where you want it you can preview it to make sure when it goes off everyone will hear your amazing new ring tone. now select create ring tone. it goes to another screen tell it to send to i tunes if you don't it won't show up under where you selected to place it.

now open up Ibrickr i'm not sure if different phones have different settings but i'm sure it's in the general area.
when ibrickr recognizes your phone click files then on the fake i phone proceed as follows private/Var/stash/ringtones once your there it will show all your ring tones you currently have.

then from there you need to pull up wherever you chose to put the music find the ring tone you just made right click it and rename choose any 4 letters i haven't tried numbers maybe that works too but i know 4 letters will work don't type any file ext or anything after it just the 4 characters.

go back to ibrickr and choose upload file(s) choose the one you just renamed and bam! after its loaded you got yourself a sweet new ring tone.

hope this helps.
