I just finished watching a live streamfrom the keynote and iPhone OS fw 3.0 will be availible worldwide on, drumroll please............JUNE 17,2009.

What your thoughts on this? I for one am very dissappointed becuase I REALLY wanted the software. I'm so pissed at Apple right now. I've also heard that AT&T will NOT cupport MMS until later this summer and Internet Tethering will also NOT be support on AT&T, but it is availible on 21 other carriers (Don't know which ones). I'm SO PISSED!!!!! I've been waiting for this day since March and Apple just ruined my day and mood. grrrrrrrr...........

PS: THE 3RD GENERATIOnIPHONE HAS JUST BEEN ANNOUNCED!:) It is called the iPhone 3GS. The S stands for speed. Itis 3x faster than the iphone 3g which means it's 6x-9x faster than iphone V1!!!!! It has a 3.2 MP camera with autofocus, exposure control, and VIDEO CAPTURE. Videos can be sent via MMS and edited right on the phone! can upload vids directly to Youtube or MobileMe. The 3GS looks the same as the 3G. There is voice control now too! :) Availible JUNE 19, 2009.

This is a fantastic update. ATT hasn't said they "won't" support anything, yet - they just haven't made a commitment to what they WILL support. I can see a possibility they may not support tethering, but they'll need to some fast slick talking to pass on MMS considering most every other phone they sell is capable.

I give the iPhone 3GS a big fat MEH!!!

3MP camera with autofocus... they outta be ashamed of themselves! I just helped my buddy hook up his old Samsung Omnia and it has a 5MP autofocus camera with FLASH! It has ISO options along with many other features that regular cameras have on them like white balance and aperture settings along with photo editing tools. It has video capturing along with tools for that and you can basically get this phone for free depending on which carrier you sign up with! I love the iPhone but when they make us feel like we're getting a deal because they come up with stuff that some phone's have had for years it make me want to puke!!! :angry:

You would probably need to return it before that date. I don't know if they will exchange it for the new one. I would call in a day or two when they have more info so you can get an at&t answer.

I got mine in November 2008 and I am not eligible. You can check under your online account to see if you are eligible, but I doubt you will be. I am going to use another lines eligibility to get mine so I am fine(I think) Nope no zoom

well i was excited, but the actual phone itself does not offer enough for me to go buy it. basically 3 things it will have that i dont on my 3G

1. "slightly" better camera (capable of video, and focus)
2. voice commands
3. a little faster

sorry if i just JB 3.0 i can have the video. the app store has a ton of voice command apps (yes not as intense as 3GS, but for the money....

i think ill wait till the release of one with 4g speeds.....

edit: sorry there are 4 diffs. cant forget the compass :gasp:

Funny, these were the same comments that people made when the 3G came out last year.....only a minor improvement in speed and a memory boost....


The V1 iPhone was extremely revolutionary when it was introduced in 2007.....therefore, in terms of product life cycle, it is not uncommon to see several evolutionary models before the next major revision.......

I like the new iphone's specs and what it offers, but everyone's mileage will vary....

No zoom, if you want you can take a pic go to it,and gesture to zoom in.Then do a screenshot(power&home buttons). For a ghetto zoom.

I agree for the V1 users, upgrading offers both new hardware and all of OS 3.0.

I guess I am finding it funny how people are poo-pooing the new iphone....I'm just trying to figure out what they were expecting.... to me the combination of the new hardware and new OS should give everyone all they were asking for.....

i think the main "poo-pooing" is from us 3g'ers, i wanted to see some major design diffs in the phone. ie. front face camera, HD/OLED screen, new look. you know, major changes? its just a 3g with minor additions...

True that.....For me, 32Gb's, the voice commands and the upgraded camera are enough for me to say goodbye to my 3G....

to each his own, i dont think it is for me tho.... i dont even listen to everything on my 8gig before i remove it all and change it up. hope you enjoy it, im sure it is a great phone, just not enough yet.... maybe next time.
