Someone Please HELP!

After spending well into the low thousands replaceing my TMobile Wing which runs off of Windows Mobile and locks up easily, i decided to upgrade. I searched for the best deal I could find on this highly acclaimed iPhone. So instead of switching service providers i was adviced to get a unlocked global iPhone. I can't do anything with it. No Emailing, no web! I cant even get it to play music! can someone please direct me to where I can make this phone be all that every say it is.

You'll need to activate it. Have you connected it to iTunes yet? If you can't get it activated, you'll need to use QuickPWN to do so. It will activate it as well as jailbreak it. If you can't get it activated, first connect it to iTunes, and if iTunes doesn't recognize it, put it in DFU mode and restore. Then JB with QuickPWN and unlock with Yellowsn0w.

Please post the FW version. Go to settings -> General-> About ->Version. If it is 2.2.1, you won't be able to software unlock it (you'll have to use a SIM card unlock, they're around $40). If it is 2.2 or lower you can JB and unlock it. Be sure to use the 2.2 IPSW file.
