I searched, but couldn't seem to find what I was looking for...

I have a iphone 3g running 2.2.1. somewhere along the way I decided to be an idiot and try to upgrade to OS 3.0. Now here is my problem...

The silent/ringer switch broke off. I'm getting ready to send my iphone back to Apple. What are the odds they will notice my modem firmware is 4.20.01 instead of 2.30? I did try the FuzzyBand route, but that failed due to have the 5.09 bootloader. I googled and couldn't find a solution to downgrade the bootloader (didn't expect to really).

Any thoughts or suggestions? If you want to tell me I'm a moron, I'm ok with that. I deserve it.

Thanks in advance.

Restore back to 2.2.1 in Itunes and send to Apple or make an Appointment with the Gbar.

Yes, its that simple.

They won't check much on your phone. Just look at it and replace it.

I would do this in person, if possible. they are sure to do less probing around if you and several others are waiting.

Thanks for the responses everyone. They sent me a replacement iPhone today, so it all has seemed to worked out. Only thing that was puzzling, was this phone doesn't say 3G on the back like my old one, but I have a 3G connection. Different back I suppose?

Thanks again everyone
