iPhone Contacts syncs WindowsMail NOT Outlook

I want to import my contacts from Treo 650 to iPhone3G
I exported Palm Desktop Address Book (Treo) to a .csv file.
I imported it to Outlook and I mapped all the fields in Outlook. It was easy. But when I try to sync to the iPhone it imports the contacts from WindowsMail and NOT Outlook.

I tried to import the .csv to Windows Mail, but the mapping utility comes up with column numbers not field names. How do I kow what they are? So I gave up.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Just stating the obvious, but did you make the necessary change in iTunes to sync with Outlook instead of Windows Mail?

I was sure I had done that unsuccessfully but I tried it again and now it worked!
Thanks for reminding me to confirm that I did the "obvious".
