Well I'm new to this forum and I need to know how to reset my ipaddress on my iPod touch (2nd generation). If there is a way I would appreciate to know how to.

On easy way is just to switch from a dynamically assigned (DHCP) address to a static one.

Go to Settings > WiFi - and tap the blue arrow to the right of your active connection. It's likely you are currently using DHCP (look at the the 3 tabs above the IP address field to determine this).

If so, make a note of your current IP address, Subnet Mask, Router, and DNS info.

Then click on the static tab. Choose a static address that is different from the one you noted down. The first three octets of the address should remain the same, and you should try a pretty high number after the last '.' in the address, to avoid conflicting with your router or other devices on your network. So, for example, if your IP address you originally noted down was 192.168.1.5, try switching it to 192.168.1.101

Then re-enter the info for Subnet Mask Router, and DNS just as you noted it from the DHCP tab.

Hope this helps ...
