For all you NBA fans out there, after the Orlando vs Boston game last night, did you see Dwight Howard give a shout out to all his Twitter fans on national television? I thought that was pretty cool of him. It's gonna be interesting as we get closer to the NBA Championship. Go Magic!!!!:tounge:

I saw that too. Like Howard - seems a good guy.

Don't fancy their chances against the Cavs though ...

Dwight Howard is a beast of a man and is awesome. I'll have to start following him on Twitter, didn't realize he had one.

I really, really hope they can be the Cavs. I'd love to go to the Finals games. Might try and nab some semi-tickets too.

Hate to root against you Binks but I would really like to see Lebron get his first (of hopefully many) rings - and I think he will as well.

Agree that Howard is a beast - but Lebron is just flat-out from another planet :)

Psh Lebron has plenty of time to get rings. It's time for Orlando to get their first championship :laugh2:. Either way, I think this will be a good series.

And you're right, Lebron really is other-worldly.

I hate the NBA. And yes, I am spamming. Lol!

If Dwight Howard can stay out of foul trouble, it will be a very close series.

Everybody says the matchups are good, and Sir Charles says the Magic are a better team - but I'll still take Lebron.

Cavs in 5. They're going to make easier work of this series AND the next one than most people are saying I think ...

Lebron can't beat the magic on his own. 1 down, 3 to go.

I didn't see the game, but I read about it via ESPN, SI, etc. He caused the game to stop for 8 minutes b/c of a dunk?! Wow. I hope the Magic pull it off... could they beat the Lakers though?

The game was sick. I'm glad the Magic came away with the win. I'm wondering how "injured" Lebron really is.

This will go to 7 games. David Stern will make sure.

it will be a Lakers/Cavs final.

all bets are off after that.

The series should be 3-0 Orlando.

but it isn't. that's why the cavs are gonna win.

Why the Orlando hate? Great game tonight.

no hate at all. in fact, i'd prefer if they won. but it's just not gonna happen.

Well I think they've really been proving themselves these 3 games. Like ZR said, if it wasn't for that admittedly surprising 3-point buzzer-beater from Lebron the series would be 3-0 after Orlando trailed by 20+ points in both of the first games. I think they've got what it takes. I might be going to the game Tuesday so I really hope they win that one.

Awe yeah! 3-1 Orlando! Magic needs to finish up this series in game 5.

They definitely need to take it in 5. Tonight's game was sick.

Crazy dramatic game. Cavs in deep deep trouble. My previous predictions = utter bollocks :)

Great picture. Apparently he didn't shake hands with anyone last night and refused a post-game conference. Not very friendly. Meh, oh well. Magic is going to the Finals!

He could not carry the whole team and the game on his back by himself. From the first quarter you saw him standing around too much.. I would have liked the series to go to 7 games. Youngbinks we can start the banter now, Lakers take it in 6 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

KNK - once again, great to see you in here!!!

Really wanted - and expected - to see Lebron in the finals, but his 'supporting cast' was ultra-disappointing again - plus the Magic were superb of course! Dwight, Hedu, Lewis, Lee, lots of them played big and clutch - and Van Gundy did some pretty good coaching too I think.

Really hope Lebron gets some more help soon - think their most crying need is for a decent big man or two - not effin' Shaq please though ...

i was also expecting a kobe/lebron showdown. i guess the NBA isn't fixed after all...

Youngbinks

The thing that bothered me about the people wanting to see a Lebron/Kobe showdown is that there are more players on the team than just those two. If you want to see them play, maybe they can have a 1-on-1 ESPN special. I want to see two great teams play against each other, not just see how the two best players do.

acosmichippo
05-31-2009, 09:31 PM
it's not that i wanted it... i expected it. i'm a conspiracy theorist like that.

i like the magic much better than the cavs. they're fun to watch. the cavs are painful. Their best player after lebron is who? Mo Williams? gimme a break. Even MJ had Scottie.

^^^ I was never that bothered about the Kobe-Lebron showdown in the finals thing. As an accidental neutral (coz I grew up a Kincks fan, so not much else to be this time of year), I would just honestly like to see as much of Lebron as possible.

I think the NBA has been great entertainment all of this year, and that's because there's a wealth of young stars - Howard and Chris Paul and Deron Williams, Brandon Roy, Dwayne Wade, and on and on.

But ... none of them are like Lebron. I never saw Oscar Robertson or Wilt play, but Lebron is at their level of dominance of the game. He does everything at both ends of the floor, night in and night out, like nobody I've ever seen. Feels a little like sacrilege to say this, but even Jordan wasn't as versatilte, as good a passer, as effin big and strong ...
