i got a text message from sep 4 2012 at 6:08 and 8:0_

when i choose call my phone crashes and comes up in safe mode
plus i says it was received Dec 31 1969!

PS I added it to contacts as Mystery Txter so that was not there

This happened to a friend of mine. He was also jailbroken (plus unlocked) but he didn't try and call so his phone never crashed. Is it happening frequently for you?

It's no hoax, I've dealt with this before. It seems to have gone through a Schwarzschild wormhole, or a Einstein-Rosen bridge, but got stuck in an imaginary time. You'll need to make it safe for usage in our current time by texting, "Is Schrödinger's Cat dead?" to # 12311969, to which you'll promptly recieve a reply of, "Yes and No", resolving the issue. If you fail to do this, a 3rd Gen iPhone will fall from the sky creating a new paradox.
