There used to be a place in Buckhead in Atlanta that had this. It was called a Luther burger. I tried going there last year but the place closed down. I can't imagine why.

As an aside, I love Paula Dean.

Okay, why did I just watch that?

because the food network pays her money for that. and she is highly regarded in the food community.

and i'm saying the emperor is naked.

I can't imagine that tasting very good.

If the donuts were on the side for desert, and they used buns instead, that would be a good meal, IMO.

Yikes - bad image! I don't know if she is the most annoying person on TV, but she's in the Top 5 or something - that Alton Brown dude might have her beat I think. In fact, it's quite possible the entire Top 10 Most Annoying are all Food Networkers - so glad my wife loves that channel :)

even so, there is nothing creative or challenging about it at all. that is why people watch the food network. People encounter breakfast sandwiches everyday at fast food restaurants... and i bet most people would rather eat them than that thing in the video.

First time I turned on Paula Dean, she was deep-frying biscuits. Then she injected them with a melted butter/honey mixture. It was then that I realized I loved her.

She is annoying, but I'll just eat her food, kthnxbai.

Ick. Not only is she annoying, but her food is disgusting, regardless of taste. I think it's terrible, given the general state of healthy living in the United States, to promote such ridiculously unhealthy food choices.

Terrorists-schmerorists.. we should be worried about the Food Network.

No, just paula. I think most other food network people are reasonably health concious.

Come on guys, there is much worse schlock on the Food Net than Paula. Emerill makes blood vessels in my brain pulsate with pain. Bobby Flay is a walking bag of fluid to be inserted into a sexual organ, if you catch my drift. Paula is nothing but clogged arteries and love. Why the hate?

acosmichippo
05-16-2009, 02:41 AM
Bobby doesn't bother me at all. Emiril... well... i hear he's a good drummer.

Paula has no redeeming qualities at all.

What really bothered me when i saw this was not the "recipe" itself... but the audacity it takes to think it's worthy of telling the world about. and the "Yowl" stuff eats at my soul.

She just licked her finger and then handed the 'sandwich' to the other woman! I guess it's not important, since they both shared it. Ugh.

Let me be clear that I don't watch Paula. I just don't share the vitriol you all apparently have for her.

I do, however, share her love of bacon.

Paula is annoying. "oh the boys are going to help me" Its ok Paula, we all know all your food is fattening like hell and you are contributing to obesity.

The contessa woman is annoying. Its like her world is Geoffrey and he's the only one who eats her food. If she couldnt cook, she would be single and alone.

Bobby Flay is very douche like and annoying, because no matter how great others can cook he is the very last word in grilling. I stopped watching anything by him when he won some Falafel challenge in NYC. He didnt even make them right, and the judges were some off the street low class people who prolly have never had a real 100% MiddleEastern Falafel instead of the double fried to stay warm street van crap in NYC ones.

hmm lets see who else?

Oh that everyday italian woman is kinda annoying. I swear, if i carried on the way she does after each taste of food it would be porn. MMMMmmmm.

Rachel Ray is annoying now, because it sounds like she has throat cancer. But i still watch her sometimes to see if she'll burn more than just her hair or cut her self again.

Oh the crazy fat guy with the Backstreet boy Bleached out guido hair. He cooks the worst and very unhealthy things ive seen.

BUT.... nothing beats the most annoying and biased show of them all.

Iron Chef.

I swear, why the fk do people even compete knowing that the show is biased and they are going to lose. There has only been very very few episodes where the Iron chef lost to someone else. The show was pathetic because no matter what culturally different ways of cooking the objective food the Iron Chef still won. *srry you paid all that money to fly yourself, your chefs, pay for hotel etc just to lose?*

I've actually watched Hell's Kitchen and enjoyed it.

And I'd do Rachael Ray over the left front fender of the Popemobile on a rainy day.

Watching people make food gets boring after 10 minutes. Watching people who make food professionally, naturally enjoy themselves in life rarely gets boring.

All i can say is wow.

I wonder what they do when someone actually has a heart attack or a stroke when leaving the establishment. Also i wonder if he's got a good lawyer to fight off the petty moronic people who sue "because it made me fat".

At 8000 Calories its amazing how long the below average lazy american will burn that off. The average person requires at least 2700 for men and 2000 for women max daily. The Quadruple burger that restaurant sells is enough for around 4days!!! Not including Soda, and Fries with toppings.

Anyways on a side note. Phelps eats 12000 calories a day. I cant imagine how devastating his body could crash if he changed his diet from 12meals to just 3. Im guessing the binge session would be very very damaging.

TarekElsakka

12000 calories a day is just too much. My best friend was like really chubby till the 12th Grade, then he started going to the gym, eating a low amount of calories per day, etc. until he got in really good shape. I am 65 kilograms and 1.68 CM tall, I'm not fat but I am still trying to lose some weight because I have that little belly.. HATE IT! I am trying to do belly presses every day using weight so it would burn faster but still... I see no change because my meals aren't managed well. I eat three per day and I think a lot of calories per day but not to the 3000+ extent.

Londonrockz568

well depending on lifestyle and working out 3k calories isnt that bad. Instead of having 3 big meals, have 6 small ones thru the day.

Yep, thats us.

Meal, snack, meal, snack, meal, snack. How about that? :D.

Wake up (lets just say 7am) first thing after you scratch ur manliness, drink a room temperature glass of lemon water. (must be room temp, lemon water... this does something to the "wake up" the metabolism)
Have a big breakfast. (very important) avoid fast food, try an omlett, or w/e

2 hours later (9am)
Fruit snack or Smoothie (apple, grapes, orange, banana etc *fruits* OR mix together blueberries, melon, strawberries, mangos, papaya etc together prior in the week and have 1 cup each day including juices they produce) and a full glass of water. You can even go so far as to blend them all up and have 16oz of smoothie, or puree drink.
Smoothie = fruits of choice, orange juice, or milk. Whey protein powder and orange or vanilla sorbet. Food Process with ice for slush style, or just blend for smooth.
Puree drink = fruits of choice, orange juice or water or cranberry juice and blend. You will have alota seeds etc but its a choppy puree, very high in fiber...good for bowels.

2hours later (11am)
Lunch, have a salad, or wrap, panini, soup or something light but not heavy so to speak. Have a full glass of regular water room temp or cold.

2 hours later (1pm)
Full glass of water. And a small amount of food. Like an apple or w/e.

2 hours later (3pm)
Have a pre dinner meal. Again something light, but not stuffing. Like a half of a sandwich or even a small soup. Another full glass of water if u didnt have the soup.

2 hours later (5pm)
Have your dinner. Remember portion control is key. No more than 1 cup of rice, or potatoes. Full glass of water. (trust me, you wont be as hungry to engorge yourself with food so after a few bites u'll prolly feel full... as soon as you do stop eating. Dont stretch the stomach)

2 hours later (7pm)
You can do 2 things. Have a small pudding, or applesauce and thats it. Or just drink a full glass of water.

You shouldn't be eating after 8pm. If you get hungry (which i doubt? but hey it happens) drink a full glass of water and go to bed. When you wake up, your body will be hungry.

No food after 8 is because when you sleep things slow down, heartrate, breathing, digestion. Whatever the body cant breakdown it will store as fat. To make a good example, In Japan Sumo wrestlers undergo a strict diet of eating (large portions but healthy) and after each meal they are required to sleep for 1-2hours. This helps them put on the weight. Eating and sleeping = no no if u are trying to lose weight.

Make smoothies or fruit snack combinations each morning or each night before bed for the next day. You can rearrange everything to fit your life to a certain extent.

You can only do this if you work out for at least 30mins each day. Simple running, or cycling, or any form of excersize that gets the heart rate up will help. Keep in mind this is ONLY for loss of weight. Not bulking up or gaining muscle. Bulking up for more muscle is alot different. You can modify the eating schedule and foods to fit your calorie budget. Have a doctor, or look online on how to calculate your BMI (body mass index) and calories needed to promote effective weightloss within a happy and realistic food eating diet. Sucking down smoothies for 2 weeks will lose you a few pounds but its not realistic.
