AT&T sent out a survey to iPhone owners asking them to rate it's capabilities and included on the survey was iChat. Hopefully it's in the works!

My bet is that it was a typo... they left out SMS.

I wouldnt get your hopes up. I dont see AT&T letting this into the iPhone. Definitely a possibility though.

The question is to rate items over EDGE.

SMS is not edge. Still probly an accident though. We can always dream...

why does everyone say that? Aim is on a number of att phones because they made some kind of deal

The majority of those phones operate over SMS. And as you said, they made some kind of deal. Unless they can make money off of it, I dont see why they would let it shave profits off a txt plan.
