Jailbreaking VERY SIMPLE EASY-TO-ANSWER QUESTION PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi,

If I Jailbreak an Ipod Touch 2gen on one Mac, does it matter that I would use a different mac for putting music etc on my Ipod? Baisically, if I used one Mac to jailbreak it, would I ever have to use THAT SPECIFIC mac again?

No, it will not matter at all, as long as you don't sync the iPod Touch with the first Mac used to jailbreak it first. I've jailbroken iPhones using my work Mac and then synced them with my personal Mac at home with no problems.

Thanks a lot- so if i give you a run down of what I was planning- could you possibly confirm whether this would work (I am very scared of this sorta thing and don't have a clue)

- Jailbreak my Ipod 2nd generation using a mac with system software 10.4.11 using either this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHST8rGTW_4 or this http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=3519 I presume that because it is an OS lower that 10.5.6 it will be able to enter DFU mode

( I haven't a clue which program is better to use btw- or whether either works )

- Then, once jailbroken on that mac, If I then sync it as I normally would with another Mac which IS 10.5.6 (hence why i couldn't do it on this one in the 1st place as didn't want to fiddle around trying to get DFU mode to work) it should work as normal right? Just normal syncing and transferring music onto it- and I wouldn't have to use the original mac I jailbroke it on again.


Is this correct?


And can I still download OFFICIAL Apps from the apple store onto it- or am I stuck with Cydia apps?

yes that is correct. once jailbroken you can sync with any computer you want, upload music, download apps, etc. just don't update or restore as you will lose your jailbreak.
