If I use this guide http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=3519 for jailbreaking a 2gen Ipod touch with a mac, does the Mac have to have DFU mode enabled (10.5.6) How is this done?
Also, can anyone help me on this thread too?

And also- what's a USB hub? Can this be used INSTEAD of DFU mode??????

DFU mode is Device Firmware Update mode - your iPod Touch must be in this mode in order to complete the jailbreak process. It's not something your Mac does, per se, but new Macs running 10.5.6 have issues recognizing this mode in iPhones and iPod Touchs, hence the modification needed to allow it.
A USB hub is this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_hub) and using one can avoid the need to make modifications to your Mac's operating system to complete the jailbreaking process.

Okay, thanks but I'm pretty much sussed on the DFU thing now.
