I am thinking of getting my cousins 2g iphone however a problem he said exist is that when you receive a message for the first time from a contact instead of coming up with the name from who sent it, such as Mick, it comes up with +61 4 00000000. You then has to add this number to Mick. So when Mick sends another message it comes up with his name. When you go into contacts and look up Mick, it will have 0400000000 number and also +61 4 00000000. I think he has firmware 1.13 or something.
Is there a way to overcome this issue, so that when a contact sends you a first message you dont have to do all this adding number to contact stuff?

Probably just reset the phones software. I would guess it wouold be as simple as that. Let us know the results!!

I think it might be not iPhone's problem. I used Nokia before and this problem also happened sometimes. But it would fix by itself. Very strange.
