Update?

I heard that Apple's first update for the iPhone was July 5, but that obviously wasn't true. Does anyone know when the first update really is?

My iTunes says it will check for updates again on the 13th (i think that's the right date). Maybe then.

No one but Apple knows. iTunes checks for updates every now and then but that doesn't mean anything.

It does take time for Apple to test the updates before they send it out to make sure their isn't any problems.

That looks like a very legit article aside from the ones AppleJon and Konviktion wrote. At the moment I am very happy with my phone as I have no major bugs, battery life is excellent and everything works like a charm, but like the others I am also anticipating the release of a new update! More bells and whistles to play with!

That doesn't mean anything. Thats just when its scheduled to check. You can check for updates at anytime on the main iPhone tab in iTunes.

This date is always there...its 10 days or so after the last time you checked. IT DOES NOT MEAN AN UPDATE IS PENDING!

Ya know, i suspect that is how the old rumour of July 5th. Got started. Someone saw that Itunes would check for updates on July 5th and assumed that is when an update would come out.

As for that post on Howard Forums some of it seems like a no brainer and some seems kinda fantastic. Leopard is definately the key though. It wasn't delayed just to push out iPhone. I expect some serious enterprise features, especially in the area of calendaring and contacts.

what I was saying was that I read pre release was there would be updates near daily maybe that was just for bugs
