A $400 Paperweight

Good Day

I now am the proud owner of an extremely expensive paperweight.

1 year, 5 months, 3 weeks and 3 days later, my third (if I remember correctly--it might be a fourth) iPhone has died.

I am not sure how most people's 2G/Second Generation/Whatever iPhones died, but my battery got to the point that it would not hold a charge for more than three hours and whenever I would charge it, it got so hot that I LITERALLY charged it IN MY REFRIGERATOR. When it was charging I could not even touch it and I was truly afraid that it would MELT the plastic on the egg shelf in my refrigerator.

All was well in the garden.

But today, nothing.
Dead. Rest in Peace. Pushing up the daisies. Sleeping with the fishes.
(If anyone can remember any metaphors from the Monty Python "Parrot Sketch", please add them at your convenience).

For the past month (or so) I have been exchanging my SIM card with my old Razr, and began to appreciate the "ol Razr" again. However, I am not sure that I can (or even WANT to) go to another phone other than the iPhone.

Short version: My opinion of the iPhone and the Razr is:
1- The Razr is a superior phone in EVERY respect.
2- The iPhone is better at everything else. (Note: For the past six months I have been using a STOCK iPhone).

I was not sure exactly sure where to put a DEAD iPhone post, so I decided to post it here. Also, 99% of my posting was done in the Off Topic section and being that this is my first post since November, I thought this would be the best place to say hello again.

Perhaps I was mistaken. I did not know improper posting would cause any distress, therefore, Pepe and London, I do apologize for my error in judgement.

Dave, maybe you could create a new Dead iPhone category for clarity, and please, because of the importance of keeping these fine gentlemen happy, please move this post to the proper category.

You dont need to satisfy me or Pepe with anything. The most logical thing to do would be to place a topic about an iPhone in the forum labeled iPhone. If you wanted to make an introduction or a comeback, there is a corresponding topic there as well.

I dont care much for how many posts you've made in OT, but in keeping things as best organized on a forum (which is what 100% of all forums strive to do) I made a simple post pointing out that this topic that was made in the wrong section. You yourself have admitted that with the two words "improper posting".

No distress was caused, and for the comment of "keeping us happy" you dont and it would be impossible for you to do so. I have no expression for people who post things in the wrong place, in other words im neutral... being neither happy or upset that a person couldn't use their own judgement in placing sometimes a very obvious post. *Sometimes a topic could be 2 things. For example a topic i posted about high end headphones for the iphone. I wasn't sure if it would be considered an accessory or part of the iphone since headphones come with the device. The mod's made their choice and moved it to Accessories.

As my Mother used to say when i was little, Reading is the gateway to knowledge.
