The aluminum macbook that is out now came out in October 2008. Now I'm trying to decide whether I should wait until next year to buy a macbook or if I should buy it now.
I'm in no rush to buy a new laptop.
I was wondering, if there was any word of new features/updates/models of the macbook coming out any time in the soon future? possibly next year 2010?
Thanks

If you can wait its always better to wait.

Apple isn't known to release much information until the keynots which are close to the release dates. I got mine in Oct and I'm really impressed with it.

there won't be keynotes as there have been in the past. The iMacs, Mac Pros, and MAc Minis were all updated earlier this year, and the only notice given was emails. So a macbook update could come at any time - not just at big conferences or conventions.
After such a huge overhaul on the model last fall, i wouldn't expect much more differences other than the battery. with the new battery in the 17" MBP, it's only a matter of time before they implement the same technology into the other macbooks. Of course, along with that may also come marginal processor, memory, and hard disk upgrades.
If you have to have the latest and greatest, you might as well wait... but don't expect anything as groundbreaking as the unibody design.

I watched the Keynote for the MacBooks/MacBook Pro's/MacBook Air's in October 2008, just before they were released and I bought mine (Mid Oct).

sounds like a big change will be a built in at&t 3G card into the mac books. Now will that be in every one or just certain models e.i. mac book vs. mac book pro, I dunno. So if thats important to you, then wait. BUT.... with the 3.0 software on the iPhone, if you have one and don't care about carrying around the USB wire, the 3G in the computer might be redundant.

When did they say they were doing that?

Well, the 3G chip is a rumor as of now, but tethering is built into the 3.0 software.
